Peatlands: Action in Scotland to tackle a global problem

Join us for an evening drinks reception to discuss peatlands and the Peatland Code.

The reception will be held at Archers' Hall, 66 Buccleuch Street, Edinburgh on Tuesday May 24th from 6pm to 8pm by kind permission of the President and Council of the Royal Company of Archers. The event will precede the Scottish Land & Estates Spring Conference, which is to be held on May 25th.

The evening will include presentations on the challenges facing our peatlands and the urgent need for action to secure peatlands in a healthy state, to avoid massive carbon emissions affecting our climate.

During the evening, Clifton Bain, Director of the IUCN UK Peatland Programme, will explain the innovative ways in which we can help tackle the peatland challenge. There will also be an opportunity to speak with peatland experts and land managers involved in the delivery of one of the greatest environmental outcomes of our time.

This event should be of interest to land managers as well as businesses and decision-makers, recognising that tackling climate change and safeguarding our natural environment makes sound economic sense, as well as benfiting society.

If you would like to join us please RSVP here by Monday May 16th.

This is a joint event hosted by the IUCN UK Peatland Programme and Scottish Land & Estates. The evening has been kindly supported by Savills.
