Geltsdale Reserve

Geltsdale Reserve

Restoration Delivered

Peatland restoration on site has included drain blocking to raise water levels and restore bog-forming vegetation. RSPB has also reduced sheep grazing and heather burning (replaced with heather cutting). This has resulted in increased species diversity, including Sphagnum spp.
