BogFest (a joint Moors for the Future Partnership & IUCN UK Peatland Programme Conference)

Many thanks to all that joined us for BogFest 2017 in the heart of Edale. It was great to have so many enthusiastic people ready to learn and share their own experiences. .

Location: Moorlands Field Centre, Edale, Peak District National Park

Field trip to Black HillA joint celebration of our iconic uplands and brilliant blanket bogs hosted by the Moors for the Future Partnership and IUCN UK Peatland Programme. The conference will provide an opportunity to connect with people working on upland and lowland peatland restoration, clough woodland regeneration and upland meadows.

A chance to share ideas and expertise with other land managers, scientists and conservation practitioners to join the dots between the ecosystem services these habitats provide.

The location in the heart of the Peak District National Park and South Pennines Special Area of Conservation affords a unique opportunity to engage directly with locations and sites in protected landscapes, and to discuss how we move forward in protecting these places in a post-Brexit world.

The conference is financed by Moors for the Future Partnership's MoorLIFE2020 project, which covers the EU designated South Pennine Moors Special Area of Conservation. The project is delivered by the Peak District National Park Authority as the lead and accountable body (the Co-ordinating Beneficiary). On the ground delivery of the project is being undertaken largely by the Moors for the Future staff team, with works also undertaken by the National Trust High Peak and Marsden Moor Estate, the RSPB Dove Stone team and Pennines Prospects (the Associated Beneficiaries).

Funded by the EU LIFE programme and co-financed by Severn Trent Water, Yorkshire Water and United  Utilities. With advice and regulation from Natural England and the Environment Agency, and local advice from landowners.
