Conference overview

Day One:

Registration from 11:30am at the Shropshire Conference Centre, before we welcome delegates at 1:30pm. During the afternoon we will remind ourselves why peatlands are important and why we do what we do, followed by a broad look at the various developments made in recent years, including the latest in science, progress in restoration and management and communicating success.

An interactive poster session will be held at the venue in the early evening and a buffet dinner served.

Day Two:

Breakfast will be available at the Conference Centre for delegates on the all inclusive rate. The day will begin with a further look into the various peatlands issues today, carrying on from the talks the previous day. We will then set the scene for the afternoon's field trips.

Delegates will split up onto their chosen field trips - everyone will be collected from the Conference Centre by coach and taken to their site. A packed lunch will be provided. The coach will then return delegates to Shrewsbury town centre.

In the evening, we will be hosting the Conference Dinner in Shrewsbury Town Centre. Numbers are limited for this dinner so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Day Three:

Breakfast will once again be served at the Conference Centre for all delegates on the all inclusive ticket.

Day Three will consist of a day of plenaries, lectures and workshops, which look into the challenges and opportunities from Brexit and a UK Peatland Strategy that addresses these. Focussing on the issues discussed in the days prior, delegates are able to choose between topics as a number of parallel sessions will be held during the morning and afternoon.

We will all come together towards the end of the conference to get everyone behind the UK Peatland Strategy and come up with actions to push it forward.

We aim to finish for 4pm.
