In a novel interdisciplinary collaboration, Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology (CAHAE), English and American Studies (EACW) and Planning, Property and Environmental Management (PPEM) are seeking a creative and enthusiastic PhD candidate who can work across the disciplines of archaeological, ecological and environmental information to research the symbolism, poetics and affective relationships between humans and avians.

The deadline for both opportunities is midnight on Friday 14 November 2025. They are part of a competitive selection process where more projects are advertised than will be funded, so the teams supporting both projects are keen to work closely with interested candidates to maximise their chances of success.
