The 9th Flow Country Research Conference will take place from 28–30 October 2025 in Thurso, Scotland. This year’s theme, From Capitulum to Catchment, invites researchers, students, and environmental professionals to explore the Flow Country’s biodiversity, hydrology, and its global relevance — from the smallest Sphagnum structures to entire catchment systems.
In July 2024, the Flow Country was also inscribed as the world’s first and only peatland UNESCO World Heritage Site (WHS). This will be the first conference post-inscription, providing a unique opportunity to get together and celebrate this incredible achievement, and the role that the Flow Country Research Hub has played in it.
