About the event

The Irish Peatland Conservation Council will be celebrating International Bog Day 2026 on Sunday 26th July from 11.30am-4pm. This free event is suitable for all the family. 

The IPCC are delighted to welcome wildlife author and photographer Carsten Krieger to host a wildlife photography class between 11.30am-1pm (note places are limited for this class and booking is essential by e-mail: bogs@ipcc.ie).

At 1.45pm the breeding waders team will present a talk on wetland birds and their work to protect and conserve these iconic species.

For the young peatland explorer a fun pond dipping activity will be available from 12 noon - 3.30pm, the peatland exhibitions and wildlife gardens will be open and the IPCC will lead a bog walk at 2.45pm to Lodge Bog.
