About the event

Building on last year’s webinar, Plant-e is hosting a follow-up session on remote water level monitoring with the SensorStick in peatlands. Since the last session, the SensorStick has been deployed in more locations, and Plant-e have new data, product updates, and field lessons to share.

Water table depth is a key indicator of peatland condition, influencing carbon storage, emissions, and restoration success. The SensorStick provides a continuous record in remote, wet sites using a self-powered sensor that needs no regular battery changes.

This year’s webinar focuses on two questions: what the SensorStick can do now, and how far the data can be trusted. The Plant-e team will present recent product updates, including the new dashboard, and summarise deployment experiences from the past year.

Partners from the UK and Ireland will then give an expert view on the data: how SensorStick measurements compare with dipwells, what validation is needed before using the data, and which factors can affect accuracy.

The webinar is intended for peatland managers, restoration practitioners, researchers, and environmental monitoring professionals. Submit questions in advance to junya.nakasugi@plant-e.com, or ask them live during the session.

During the session, we will dive into:

  • Real-world experiences from the SensorStick users
  • Water-level data validation with experts from the field
  • Financing your monitoring scheme and leasing structure
