Wetland Solutions for the Future: Learning from ALFAwetlands and REWET Projects
About the event
Over the past four years, the REWET and ALFAwetlands projects have worked to advance wetland restoration across Europe, generating knowledge, tools, and practical approaches to support climate mitigation, biodiversity recovery, and sustainable land management. By combining field-based research, stakeholder engagement, and policy-oriented analysis, both projects have contributed to a better understanding of how wetlands can deliver environmental, social, and economic benefits when effectively restored and managed.
At the Final Joint Conference, the key outcomes of both projects will be presented, alongside engagment with policy, research, and practice stakeholders. The event will begin with a dedicated focus on policy recommendations, translating project results into actionable insights for decision-makers. Afterwards, the conference will shift towards scientific findings and practical solutions, showcasing methodologies, tools, and lessons learned from real-world implementation. The programme will also include a field visit to an ALFAwetlands Living Lab, offering participants a first-hand look at restoration approaches in practice.
