The new round of the Peatland Restoration Grant was launched on 15 October 2025 and closes at midnight on 14 January 2026. Around £700,000 of funding is available to be distributed as £10,000-£250,000 grants to individuals and organisations for peatland restoration.
This is the second round of the Peatland Restoration Grant that combines the functions of the former Development and Delivery grants. Both former grants proved successful, but this new grant offers partners greater flexibility if they choose to move seamlessly from the planning phase to the shovel-ready delivery phase. The successful projects must be completed by 31 March 2027.
All details and the application process can be accessed through the Wales Peatland Action Programme web page.
Webinars to explain the application process will be held on Teams on 7 November 2025 (10am-11am in English and 11:30am-12:30pm in Welsh) with registration in Welsh and English. A recording of the webinars will be uploaded for on-going reference.
The grants are funded by Natural Resources Wales / The National Peatland Action Programme who receive funding from Welsh Government. Natural Resources Wales’ National Peatland Action Programme has a strategic role to expand Wales’ peatland action through partners.
