Peatlands Monitoring Community of Practice: Data Standards Workshop

Following on from the success of the first Peatlands Monitoring Community of Practice event, WaterLANDS and PeatDataHub invite you to join them at a workshop where they will explore developing data standards for peatland monitoring.

The draft agenda is as follows: 

  • Aims of the workshop
  • Update on the England Peat Map Standards
  • Great North Bog update
  • Eyes on the Bog version 2 update - provided by Jane Akerman, IUCN UK Peatland Programme Manager
  • National Trust update
  • Opportunity for short team presentations on what is monitored, how and what are the challenges
  • PeatDataHub behind the scenes – database structure and design
  • Breakout sessions on metadata mapping, protocols and different parameters measured, and Vocabulary/Glossary

Outcomes of the workshop

  • Library of protocols – describing the protocol and reasons for its use by a given organisation
  • Vocabulary/Glossary – to identify key words and their definitions
