Monitoring Peatlands

This one-day course is delivered in a classroom setting, with engaging presentations enhanced by discussion of real-world case studies. Monitoring Peatlands is highly recommended as CPD for peatland restoration practitioners, as well as those managing, monitoring and studying peatlands.

Course Topics

Introduction to peatland monitoring: Monitoring methods for blanket peatland habitats, including justification, project design and implementation.

Remote monitoring with UAVs: Use of UAVs (unpersoned aerial vehicles) for peatland monitoring.

Sustainable monitoring: How to fund a monitoring programme, gain support, and make effective use of the data.

The course is hosted in a classroom setting with step-free access available. 18+.

Notepad & pen or laptop if desired for note taking.

Please note that lunch is not included. Hot drinks are provided. A small fridge and microwave are available.

Joining us on the day

Sign in at Tyro Training's reception from 9am. You will be directed to the break room where refreshments will be available. The course will start at 9:30.

Tyro Training is located within Craven Cattle Mart, which has ample free parking on site.

Public transport

From Skipton Train Station or Skipton Bus Station take the 580 bus to Farm Shop (opp), then take the footpath towards Craven Cattle Mart.
