Do you Love Yorkshire, Love Wildlife? Are you as committed as we are to creating a Yorkshire rich in wildlife for everyone? Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing environmental organisations and seek to appoint a Peatland Monitoring Officer based at their Skipton office.

The Peatland Monitoring Officer is a key part of the Yorkshire Peat Partnership team. The Officer will be responsible for implementing, analysing and reporting on ground-based ecological surveys and carrying out UAV monitoring flights and working with the GIS & Remote Sensing Officer to analyse the outputs from these.

As well as being passionate and enthusiastic about the Trust's mission to secure Living Landscapes and Living Seas, you will have experience of ecological field survey work and good botanical identification skills as well as practical GIS software skills in either ESRI ArcGIS, MapInfo Professional or QGIS. You will have excellent communication skills with a keen interest in the work of the Yorkshire Peat Partnership and a willingness to work outside normal office hours including some stays away from home during the survey season.
